Bruce Meece is Vice President of Administration & Strategic Planning for TECO Coal Corp., a subsidiary of TECO Energy. He is responsible for Property Management and Administration and Safety, Purchasing, Environmental and Human Resources for all TECO Coal operations, including Gatliff Coal Co., Clintwood Elkhorn Mining Co., Premier Elkhorn Coal Co., Pike Letcher Land Co. and Perry County Coal Corp.
Meece began with TECO Energy as an engineer in December 1978. His duties have encompassed the following positions: Deep Mine Face Foreman, Supervisor of Engineering, Manager of Mineral Acquisition & Technical Services, Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, Director of Property Development and Director of Administration & Strategic Planning. He was promoted to his present position in July 1995.
Meece received an Associate of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Somerset Community College and is a registered Professional Engineer, a registered Land Surveyor, a certified Kentucky Surface Mine Foreman and a certified Kentucky Underground Mine Foreman.
