William A. "Bill" Stark is Vice President & Controller of TECO Coal Corp., a subsidiary of TECO Energy. In this role, he is responsible for all financial functions for TECO Coal operations, including Gatliff Coal Co., Rich Mountain Coal Co., Clintwood Elkhorn Mining Co., Premier Elkhorn Coal Co., Pike-Letcher Land Co. and Perry County Coal Corp.
Previously, he was Director of Financial Planning & Assistant Controller of TECO Coal with responsibilities for financial planning, state and federal tax matters and ensuring the financial records for TECO Coal operations.
Stark began with Gatliff Coal Co. as Manager of Special Accounting Services in April 1986. He was promoted to Assistant Controller in February 1988 and became Assistant Controller of TECO Coal Corp. in December 1992. In January 2001, Stark was promoted to Director of Financial Planning & Assistant Controller. He was promoted to his present position on April 1, 2011.
Prior to joining TECO Coal, Stark was employed by Smith & Long, C.P.A., a public accounting firm in Corbin, KY. He has 10 years full-time experience in public accounting.
Stark received a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Kentucky University in 1976. He is licensed in Kentucky as a certified public accountant and is a member of both the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
