TECO Energy substitutes a webcast for the presentation scheduled for September 27, 2004 in New York

TECO Energy, Inc. (NYSE: TE) announced today that the company is substituting a Webcast for the live presentation to the financial community originally scheduled for Monday September 27, 2004 in New York due to the impact of Hurricane Jeanne. The Webcast will be held concurrent with a conference call with the financial community. As indicated in the original announcement, investors, shareholders, media and the public can access the Webcast and accompanying materials by following the link on TECO Energy’s Web site at: www.tecoenergy.com.
In addition, TECO Energy Executive Vice President and CFO Gordon Gillette will now participate in the panel discussion and Webcast at the Merrill Lynch Global Power and Gas Leaders Conference on September 28, 2004 at 2:00 PM in lieu of Chairman and CEO Sherrill Hudson.
