TECO Energy announces proposed public offering of common stock

TECO Energy, Inc. (NYSE:TE) today announced that it plans to offer 15.5 million shares of its common stock pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement through underwriters led by Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and JP Morgan as joint bookrunning managers.
TECO Energy will also grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 2,325,000 additional shares of common stock.
The proceeds from the sale of these shares are expected to be used to fund, in part, TECO Energy’s acquisition of New Mexico Gas Co., and for general corporate purposes.
