The 'Power Play' is Back
Bringing the 'Power Play' back to the Tampa Bay Community
The Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas are partnering to cover monthly utility bills for people who applied for help through the Share program. Share is administered by the Salvation Army, specifically to provide utility bill assistance to people facing financial hardship. In addition to funds provided by TECO and great community partners like the Tampa Bay Lightning, Share is funded by the generosity of our own employees and customers just like you.
Each week, seven recipients will be chosen to have their monthly energy bill paid through this initiative. In total, 91 households will be selected for the "Community Power Play" program over the course of the next several months. TECO has been a long-time partner of the Lightning, serving as the presenting partner for the team's power play for home games at Amalie Arena.
Bringing the energy of the "power play" back to the Tampa Bay community is essential right now, and we ask you to learn more about the Share program and contribute if you can! Listen in to hear more.
Want to help a neighbor in need?
Many of our customers have asked how they can help. One way is to give to the Share program, administered by the Salvation Army. This program lets you help customers in need pay their utility bills. Every dollar you donate goes directly to helping a neighbor in need. No portion of your contribution is used for fundraising or administrative costs.
If you're able to give, please consider a voluntary, tax-deductible contribution with your monthly payment. Simply submit your request online to contribute a monthly Share donation that will be included on your residential or business bill.
Once we receive and process your request, it may be one or two billing cycles before your Share deduction appears on your monthly billing statement. It will appear as a separate line item indicating the amount of your monthly pledge. We will provide you with a record of your previous year's contributions on your January billing statement.
You may make a one-time contribution using one of the following ways:
- Contribute to Share online.
- Complete the applicable form below and mail in your contribution as a check or money order.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to helping a neighbor in need. No portion of your contribution is used for fundraising or administrative costs. For every contribution made, we will increase the impact by matching dollar-for-dollar, up to a combined $500,000 a year for TECO donations.
